Permitted Developments Glasgow

The new legislation that came into force last year has helped so many projects become a reality instead of a continuous worry if the planning officers would grant permission for the development.  You can now carry out loft conversions with only a Building Warrant, even if you are installing a dormer or velux windows as long as compliance with the Permitted Development rules is maintained.

Rear extension can also be classified as Permitted Developments, again meaning you only need a Building Warrant as long as the guidelines of the new act are complied with.

Archiplan can visit your home and carry out a survey and offer you guidance on what will be classified as Permitted Development.

Garage Conversions Glasgow

Over the last 12 months, Archiplan have seen a boom in Garage Conversions in the central belt of Scotland.  This is becoming the ‘new normal’ for home buyers to add on a valuable room to their property without having to take up any of the garden space.

Historical data which has been gathered and analysed has confirmed the average cost of a single garage conversion is in the region of £5,328.00 with double garage conversions averaging around £7,219.00 for a complete start to finish package, including decoration and floor coverings.  The value added to properties is estimated to be around £8,000.00 for single conversions and £12,000.00 for double garage conversions.
